Spectator venues
The route of the half marathon has some ideal points for supporters to cheer on the runners……
Royal Arsenal:
Mile 4 on the route and a good place to see the competitors as they run a loop through Royal Arsenal - you may see them twice! There is music on a main stage, a couple of café’s and lots of vantage points to see what is going on.
Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich:
Mile 5 and a rousing reception from the Royal Artillery Band will greet the runners as they approach the Woolwich Barracks. Flanked by wide open spaces there are plenty of opportunities to cheer on competitors against the background of one of the 2012 Olympic venues.
Charlton House, Charlton:
Mile 7 winds through the picturesque Charlton Park with plenty of space spread out and cheer runners on. There are two music stages in this area so plenty to keep spectators entertained as they wait for the runners at the half-way point.
Greenwich Park:
Mile 9 is in glorious Greenwich Park with views over the City and music at the bandstand to keep spirits up as the runners are in the final half of the race. A great view can be had of the competitors from the viewpoint as they fan out through the Park and exit at Park Row Gate.
O2: Start / Finish:
The start and finish of the event is at this iconic London landmark. The O2 and facilities will be open as normal along with an outdoor stage with DJ and live music throughout the day to spur the competitors on.
