Boat services

The O2 have their very own high speed express river service between Waterloo and the O2 and two extra services are scheduled for Sunday 26th September.  Boats will leave Waterloo Pier (underneath The London Eye) at 8am and 8.15am stopping at London Bridge at 8.09 am and 8.24am respectively.  Total journey time will be 30 minutes.  These services are pre-booked only on a first-come first-served basis at £6 per person Please click here to book a ticket.  On the return the Thames Clippers will be running every 20 minutes from the O2 (North Greenwich pier) to all central London destinations.  Tickets for the return departure can be purchased online from www.thamesclippers.com, at the pier or onboard.

Passengers wishing to follow the race can purchase a River Roamer tickets which will allow hop on hop off travel between 10am and 10pm on Thames Clippers entire service. Adult £12, Child £6 and Family 2 adults and up to 3 children £25.00. For more information please visit www.thamesclippers.com

Click the link to pre-book tickets, select 26th September as the date, 2 sailings for Run to the Beat will be listed. Passengers wishing to depart from London Bridge pier, please choose the appropriate sailing from Waterloo and the vessel will depart London bridge 9 mins after the Waterloo departure

There is limited parking at the O2, however there is a special pre-booked price of £10 + £1.90 booking fee for Run to the Beat competitors from 6am on 26 September until 10am on 27 September in Car Park 1.  However please note that Run to the Beat facilities will not open until 07.30am.  This is a ticketless system and we strongly advices that you pre-book to avoid disappointment.  Please note that if you turn up on the day the full daily charge of £25 will be charged.  This offer is available by clicking the link here

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND PRE-BOOKING AS THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE ON-SITE PARKING IF THIS CAR PARK IS FULL.  THE FULL DAILY AMOUNT OF £25 WILL BE CHARGED IF YOU JUST TURN UP.

Tube

The O2 is connected by the Jubilee Line at North Greenwich (zone2) and the is the only tube line to offer connections to the all the others making its an easy way to get to the venue.  www.tfl.gov.uk

 

 

Train

Southeastern railways run a frequent service to and from Charlton railway station where it is a short trip on the wither the 468, 472 or the 161 to North Greenwich and the O2.  Further details and timetables can be found on www.southeasternrailway.co.uk

 

 

Spectator information

 

Royal Arsenal:

Mile 4 on the route and a good place to see the competitors as they run a loop through here - you may see them twice!  There is music on the main stage, a couple of cafes and lots of vantage points to see what is going on.  The first runners are expected through here at 09.55 and the last runners at 11.20.  The DLR is open at Woolwich Arsenal and can be accessed from the O2 - take the Jubilee Line east bound to Canning Town and then change onto the DLR which stops at Woolwich Arsenal - see www.tfl.gov.uk for further details and timings.  Alternatively Thames Clippers are  running a special boat service from the O2 to Woolwich Pier with departures at x and x with a journey time of x minutes.  Return trips from Woolwich Pier are the usual Sunday departures, every 20 minutes from x see www.thamesclippers .com for timings.

Greenwich Park:
Mile 9 is the glorious World Heritage Site and Royal Park with spectacular views over the City - there will be music here to keep the runners going in the final part of the race.  The fastest runners are due through here at approximately 10.25am and the slowest at 12.30pm.  Spectators can reach the park on foot either from Greenwich or Maze Hill Stations or the Run to the Beat Thames Clipper service from the O2 at x and x with a journey time of approx.  x minutes.  To return to the O2 the regular Thames Clippers services will be running from Greenwich Pier every 20 mins which stop at the O2 approx 5 minutes  later or take the DLR from Greenwich to Canary Wharf and change onto the Jubilee line for the O2.  Please visit www.tfl.gov.uk and www.thamesclippers.com
